Ginny - Week 2 reflection

1. One important lesson I learned is that there is either darkness or light. There is no inbetween mentioned in 1 John. I am either following Satan's schemes or on the path of the Lord. There is no way to satisfy both at the same time.
2. I feel God wants me to learn that the Lord's path is simple and grounded in love. Simple and love are two words that have stuck out to me this week. Turn on the lights and get back to knowing where I'm stepping. Stop messing with the hidden, confusing things. Bring them into the light.
3. I am going to put my faith in action by getting back to the basics. Daily studying His Word and memorizing scripture. Both help to stay in the light. Life runs a lot smoother when my daily routine includes setting aside to time to be with Him. I am also still praying for open doors to talk about spiritual things with my Weight Watcher members.

Ginny - 1 John 1:10

Hey Gals! I've got a busy morning at work tomorrow and Friday I will be in the middle-of-no-where-Texas, so I figured I'd blog everything tonight. Hope everyone is doing well, and that everyone has an exciting weekend planned!
S - If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.
O - Sounds a lot like verses 6 & 8. I guess the Lord knew we needed to hear this more than once.
A - I am a sinner. I am no better than anyone else, and yet even if my actions don't show it, my mind thinks it. I want to be humble, a listner, a servant.
P - Lord, let me see others through Your eyes. May I love and put others above myself.

Ginny - 1 John 1:8-9

Good Morning Girlz!!! We are 1/2 way through the week!!! Today I am eating lunch at the fair! Get excited! I'm having a corndog, fried pie, and a real coke. Yes that will be all my Weight Watcher points for the week, but I'll run extra hard tonight :)

O.K. on to scripture...

S - If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

O - IF we confess, He IS faithful. The question does not lie in whether or not the Lord will forgive me, the question lies in if I will confess. He will forgive me. I must do my part to confess...say out loud...acknowledge I'm wrong...say I'm sorry. I looked up "confess" at dictionary.com and it says to own or admit as true. I like that word own. God knows, we talked about that on Monday. It is I who must bring to light what I am hiding in the dark.

A - Confessing is not something I get excited about. It is the part of the prayer that is easy to skip over. I need to get better at saying out loud what it is that I have done that I need forgiveness for.

P - Lord thank you for Your forgiveness. I want to take the time to examine and take seriously my confession time with you. Help me as I turn from those areas of sin and walk in the light.

Ginny - 1 John 1:6-7

Good Morning Girlz!!!

S - If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

O - "we lie" when we say we are Christians yet don't show love

A - I have to confess I was a spoiled brat last night. I had a friend call me to tell me some exciting news and long story short I was a little punk. Basically this friend and I use to be very close, but about a year ago my feelings got very hurt and so gradually I have purposely distanced myself. I love her, want what's best for, was genuinly happy for her when she called last night, but like life better when I'm not around her all the time. Because of that feeling of hurt and a very guarded heart towards her now I came across smug on the phone last night. I hate that! The minute we hung up I thought, "why wasn't I nicer." Now don't get me wrong; I wasn't mean or hateful, I just wasn't as "over the top friendly" as I could have been. So I thought alot about this and basically what I came down to is this...regardless of my hurt heart I am to love. Isn't that what practicing the truth is all about? Love.

P - Lord I am sorry for the way I acted last night. Putting hurt feelings to the side is hard sometimes, but I'd rather paint a picture of Your love than let my selfishness prevail. Thank you for the lessons on light You are already showing me. Please continue to teach and mold me, even when it's hard.

Ginny - 1 John 1:5

Good Morning Girlz!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! After a weekend of running and pulling weeds, I'm a little sore this morning :)

S - And this is the message we have heard from Him & announce to you, that God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.

O - No darkness. Nothing He can not see. No hidden anything. He knows all (Psalm 139:4).

A - Right now my bedroom is a mess! It is a very large bedroom which is a blessing and a curse. Blessing because it is nice and big, holds all my furniture, and I have plenty of room to move around. Curse because there is lots of floor space to cover up with clothes, shoes, belts, bags, etc. Right now it looks like a bomb exploded! Every few feet there is a new item plopped on the floor. I can not tell you how many times I have walked into my room without turning on the lights and bam - stepped on a high heal, stepped on a the phone charger, tripped over a waded up shirt. I'm telling you it's dangerous! However, if I would just flip the switch how much easier my journey would be. I could see where I am stepping and therefore avoid the pains & near deaths experiences. When I think of light I think of simple. Light makes everything more simpler. I don't like things confusing. I don't like it when I don't understand or my mind gets all jumbled up. I don't like tripping over things! Light gives clearity to life. I get caught up in making things harder than they are suppose to be when all I need to do is turn the lights on and see where I am stepping!

P - My prayer is to stop before I proceed in darkness. To turn the lights on, claim scripture, and take every thought captive. I also pray for my Weight Watchers meeting tonight and that there will be opportunities to go deeper with a few members and open doors for spiritual discussions.
