Good Morning Girlz!!! It's FRIDAY!!!
1 - A lesson I learned this week: this is a relationship...fellowship, being in the Word, proclaiming, having joy. Securing my place in Heaven is only the first step. The relationship is every day after that.
2 - What I feel God wants me to learn: Not to compromise the basics. When I am disciplined in my study the days are easier to handle. This week has had some moments that lent themselves to a good sit down and have a cry, but being back on schedule with this study and my Beth Moore study has held me together. Scripture and truth have grounded me and allowed me to go over the bumps rather than pull over and have a dramatic breakdown scene.
3 - How I will put my faith into action: I am serious and confident about wanting more spiritual victories in my Weight Watchers class. Every Monday on my way to meeting I pray for the peple and the class. I'm going to add to my prayer a request for doors of opportunity to proclaim Him.

Ginny - 1 John 1:4
Good Morning Girlz!!! One more day til Friday!!! Hooray!!!
S - And these things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
O - Just like Karlyn, the word "complete" jumped out at me. To me "complete" is a wonderful word. It signifies begining & end, start to finish, sealed, lacking nothing, final, finished, done.
What it is NOT is...loose ends, lacking, wavering, wondering.
A - I love that God is a finisher. He is constant. Doesn't give up. He sees it through. In this life, I can put my best effort into finishing what I start, but because of distractions, interuptions, or just attitude they don't get done. Sometimes that is a responsibility I don't like carrying. Somedays I wish there was someone else down here on Earth that could pick up the load for a little bit and fulfill that role. I don't want it all on my shoulders. That is why I am so thankful to the Lord for taking on those cares and "completing" them. He wants me to enjoy all the joy He can give, not just some of it - the whole shabang!
P - Lord thank You. Thank You for picking up the daily tasks and responsibilities and choices and chores and schedules and desicions that I don't want to have to make on my own. Thank you for seeing me through. For being complete. Thank You for being the source of my joy, and that You never fail.

O - In these first 4 verses John uses the pronoun we instead of I. I need to search and see who the other people in the WE are and I'm seeing that our message of Christ goes a lot further when it is a collective message of we instead of just I (my experience).
"Joy may be made complete"- again need to get out the commentary but I feel like he's telling him that the "we" in this passage if full of joy from what they've experienced but he doesn't feel like it is complete unless he shares it with others (being believers in this passage)
A - I told y'all I had been struggling with some really selfish feelings and I need to always come back to this passage. I can fully experience joy in Christ when I'm doing, giving, and sharing with others. When I start to dwell on those selfish thoughts I need to just stop and reach out to someone else and proclaim Christ's love to them - so my JOY will be complete!
P - Lord thank you that even when we are frustrated and not happy that we can still turn to you and have joy. Help me to use that joy to share with others when they aren't feeling it so much!

S - What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His son, Jesus Christ
O - You can't have fellowship with someone who is dead.
A - "He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart."
He is my Savior! May my heart proclaim!
P - Thank You for saving me and walking with me. Thank You for dieing on the cross that I might have fellowship with You here on Earth and for eternity in Heaven. Now that's reason to sing! Have a wonderful day all!

IJohn 1:2 - Karlyn
S - the life was made manifest and we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was the Father and was made manifest to us.
O - Not only did John know Christ with his heart he saw him with his eyes and touched him with his hands. So, how does this apply to me since I haven't seen with my eyes? Christ's life is manifested in everything. I see him through creation, intelligence, children, etc.
A - I'm very thankful for the manifestation of Christ in me especially through the Holy Spirit. I'm thankful that I don't rely on my conscience but on the Holy Spirit. SO my job is to proclaim that eternal life through everything in my life. If it isn't proclaiming Christ it needs to go.
P - Lord thank you for knowing that we needed the manifestation of you in us and around us. Thank you for John's willingness to proclaim you and testify to what he experienced because of you. Give me wisdom on how to throw away things that aren't proclaiming you in my life!

O - I have eternal life, but am I bearing witness of that?
A - I need to be sharing with others the Good News. I specifically want to focus on my Weight Watcher members. Often our discussions lend themselves to adding in spiritual lessons, but I have yet to share the good news one-on-one with any member. Many of my members and I are good friends and even do things outside of the meeting room, so there is a relationship there to build upon. As I mentioned in my updates post the new year is bringing lots of changes, so I have decided to quit teaching Weight Watchers at the end of this year. With that being said I want to commit these last three months to sharing the Good News and looking for open doors to plant seeds for Him. I would much rather leave knowing a member's eternity is secure rather than his/her pant size :)
P - I pray specifically for open doors in the meeting room. May I be diligent to pray for members and look for opportunities to share Your love with them. Lord I ask that you do immeasurably more (Eph. 3:20) than I ever thought possible these last 3 months. I give Monday nights to You!

S - What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concering the Word of Life.
O - "hands handled" - that is the perfect title for human control
A - What are my hands handling that I need to give to God? What is it that I worry about and toil over? Relationships, finances, time management...
P - Lord I raise my hands to You. I relinquish to You my worry and anxienty. Please do abundant things in my life!
Karlyn - Praying for you and your fresh start to be centered on His Word of Life. Also praying for this new little one. Be sure and let us know pink or blue!

I John 1:1 - Karlyn
S - That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and touched with our hands concerning the word of life
O- from the beginning of my memory of learning from the Bible, I've heard it my whole life, I've seen what Christ has done in me and in others and in the world around me, I've touched HIS WORD and I've touched his creations and everything goes back to HIM the WORD of LIFE.
A - My focus needs to change. I'm constantly battling this. I'm so selfish (even tonight just before I picked this up). All my thoughts, desires, and plans should all revolve around: concerning the Word of Life. So, beginning tonight this is my new start. I'm going to have to leave a lot of things behind but it will be so worth it!
P - Lord you are the only person that can tear out what is selfish and unneeded in my life. God I give it all to you and help me to always be thinking "how does this concern the WORD of LIFE".
