I John 1:8-9 - Karlyn

S - If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

O - This is one of my favorite passages.  It's like a reality check for me.  It's easy to look at other people and think I'm doing pretty good I live a "better" or more "righteous" life than they do.  But really and truly that shows what condition my heart is in at that moment!  I'm deceiving myself and forgetting about all the sins I deal with daily hourly minute by minute!

A - I need to be more active with confession in my life.  I'm not doing that daily and letting sins build up and putting a wall up between my fellowship with me and Christ.  That's a lonely feeling.  I've gotten better at prayers of thanksgiving and praise but my confessions needs to be at the front.  I'm so thankful that when we are saved he forgives all sins past present and future and then from there all we have to do is confess and repent.

P - Lord thank you that you don't hold my sins over my head, you forgive me completely in the beginning!  Father help me to be more aware of the sins in my life I need to confess and repent from.  Give me an overwhelming desire to live righteously and fully in your presence with sin put behind me.  Thank you so much for your grace!
