Ginny - LLJ Week 3, Day 5 (and some updates)

Good Morning Girlz!!!

S - Luke 11:46 "But He said, “Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers. "

Luke 11:52-53 "Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.”  When He left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to question Him closely on many subjects,"

O - I just think of know-it-alls.  You know those people that think they have it all figured out and have all the right answers, but have they really put it into practice?  Do they have any experience at all or just the head knowledge.  What I think it all comes down to is humbling ourselves under the hand of our Lord.  It's all about Him and His authority.

A - Humbleness is not always my first reaction.  I coud use a few more doses of that.  I do not have it all together and never will, so pointing fingers isn't ever going to be a job I'm given.  There is far more I need to work on and change.  I keep thinking of that older gospel song that goes, "He's never failed me.  He's never failed me yet."  I'm going to fail.  I'm going to be in the wrong, but you know what?  My Savior never will.

P - Lord, I thank You that in my weaknesses, You are strong.  In my imperfections, You are perfect.  In my yucky, You are grace.  In my confusion, You are solid.  Lord may I walk humbly with you.  Examining my ownself before I point a finger at someone else.

Hey girls!  I need to update y'all on a few things.  A while back I had mentioned a guy named Jon.  At the time I wasn't too interested in him.  Well that has changed!  We've been dating since end of October and it is going great!  He is a wonderful guy.  Today we fly out to visit my folks and Tim.  It will be Jon's first time to meet them.  I am so excited!  I am so ready to spend the weekend all together.  Sunday my mom and I are also walking a half marathon.  It is her first and we are very excited!  You can pray for us as we walk and especially for my mom's knee.  It gives her fits sometimes.  I will be sure and keep y'all posted on things!

Also, if y'all will keep praying for Tim.  I am super excited to see him this weekend, but he is still in great need of prayer.  I love him so much and your prayers mean the world to me.

Lastly, (y'all are going to have a prayer list full of Swearingens!) if y'all would remember my sister.  Many times on this blog I have mentioned her struggle with vertigo.  Well two weeks ago she had another episode.  Not as bad as the first one two years ago, but the worst one since.  It is taking a long time to get over this and the search for a fix has not rendered any results.  Also she is pregnant.  Complete surprise.  Not planned.  So #5 will be here mid-September.  It's exciting and everyone is looking forward to the new one being here, but it has changed their world as they knew it.  So, please pray for them.  Lots of changes happening with one of those being buying a new house.  That is pretty much a must with this new addition.

Thank you girls.  Love you all!

  2. Well I dragged my feet for awhile with Jon. I kept thinking of all the reasons why it wasn't going to work...with the number one reason being - he wasn't in West Texas! (I tend to not even try things, if there is a chance of failure. I like to play it safe, which is not always good or possible!) But we kept talking and he just kept getting better and better. He was so patient with me and kept pursuing me. I've always said, "I love my life. I love my job. I love my boss. I love my house. I love my church. I love West Texas. So, it's going to take someone pretty wonderful to mess all this up!" Well, he just started fitting that bill more and more. Looking back on it now I think to myself, "...and I almost missed this." :)
