Karlyn LLJ week 3 day 5

Happy Happy Friday!  We have a grave side for Ryan's great uncle today, visiting my mom and dad tomorrow, and I'm letting Sawyer play hookie from school today!
Ginny my neighbor has walked with me twice this week!
Cindy, Amber, Jenifer praying for all of you.

S - Luke 11:46 But he said, "Woe to you lawyers as well.  For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

11:52-53  Woe to you lawyers for you have taken away the key to knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.  When he left there , the scribes and the pharisees began to be very hostile and to question him closely on many subjects

O - I had a hard time with this one today not really sure what to get out of it.  Looked in my Study Bible and it says they had "locked up the truth of the Scriptures and thrown away the key by imposing their faulty interpretations and human traditions on God's Word."
Times don't change much do they!  I think more than ever it is very important to personally study God's Word and not just take for truth whatever a preacher, bible study leader, or "Christian" says.  Everyone has an opinion but is it Truth.

A - When I'm teaching or leading from God's Word I have to make sure that I'm reading and relaying truth not my opinion.  I have to seek truth and not add to or take away from God's Word.  And definitely be aware of hypocrisy in my heart.

P - Father lead me as I read your Word to understand your truth and to share it wisely and correctly with others.  Thank you that your word is alive and current and timely!

  1. Oh I like how your Study Bible said, "threw away the key." That gives me a visual. You are so right - we must have TRUTH not opinion. Thank you for that!

I'll be praying for y'all this weekend, and I'm still praying for no rain. I tell you, I think something is happening with this neighbor stuff. That is great about your walking friend!!! Last night I talked with 3 different neighbors. Something is up! It's exciting! I'm praying these connections keep coming and we are bold enough to open the conversation to the Lord. Praying!
