Good Monday Morning that should be Friday morning! It was a busy weekend with Staci and Sawyer's graduations! So much fun but now my house is in desperate need of attention! Hope your weekend was great! Are you interested in doing the ANYTHING book study this summer?
S - Luke 16:25, 31 But Abraham said to him, Son remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted and Lazarus had nothing. SO now he is here being comforted and you are in anguish.
But Abraham said, If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even if someone rises from the dead.
O - This reminds me that God's Word is living and powerful and the Holy Spirit is at work all around us. For someone who is rejecting Christ miracles and grand gestures aren't necessarily going to help them.
A - For those in my life who still are unsaved I need to continue to pray that they will receive the HOly Spirit's conviction and will pick up a Bible and read!
P - God thank you that your Word is SO powerful. Thank you for giving it to us. Help me to use it wisely and I pray that those in our lives who don't know you will begin listening to your Word!

Ginny - LLJ Week 8, Day 5
Good Morning Girlz!!! It's FRIDAY!!!! Thank goodness! Any fun plans for anyone? All I have is running club tomorrow and church Sunday. I'm so glad. I'm gonna rest and recoup. After this weekend it's a whirlwind of traveling for the next month and a half. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
S - Luke 16: 25 "But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony."
O - Verse 25 reminds me of "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." The world looks at the outside, but the Lord looks at the heart. This rich man had a wonderful life in the eyes of the world. He had wealth and with wealth status, but when it came to eternity what mattered was his heart. Am I trying to look good in the eyes of the world or am I working on my heart?
A - Right now the biggest heart issue I am working on is what the Lord showed me last week through this study & the story of the prodigal son. I learned that self-righteousness is just as bad as rebellion. That really stuck with me and I have been working on my heart in regards to work ever since.
P - Lord thank You for Your Word and how it teaches us and changes us. Lord, please continue to help me as I work on my heart in regards to work.
P.S. Was this seriously our last day???? It went really fast!!!

Ginny - LLJ Week 8, Day 4
Good Morning Girlz!!!
Tomorrow is Friday! Thank goodness! This has been the longest week!!!
S - Luke 16:24 "And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame."
O - This rich man had only thought of himself his whole life and ways to make himself comfortable. He hadn't ever taken the time to reach out to others and share his wealth. No matter how much stuff he had or status he carried, because he did not have Jesus in his heart he did not get to spend eternity in Heaven.
A - I can get very clouded with accumulating "things." It's fun to have nice things and go nice places and be pampered. I just don't want my desire for nice things to ever blind me to the basic needs of those around me. I want the Lord to use me and my resources to meet the needs of others.
P - Lord please open my eyes to people I can help and please help me keep my earthly desires in check.

Karlyn: LLJ week 8 day 4
Good Thursday Morning!!
Amber y'all have been on my mind praying for clarity and wisdom on your decisions.
S - Luke 16:24 The rich man shouted Father Abraham have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.
O - Interesting points that stand out to me today
*Rich man asks for pity when he never gave pity
*Asks for Lazarus to relieve him, he still thinks he can tell people to do things and get what he wants
A - Who am I not giving mercy and grace to that needs it from me? Am I putting others first and sharing Christ or am I putting my needs first and then finding time to meet theirs?
P - Lord help me not to be selfish with what you've blessed me. Help me to have the mindset that everything I have is yours and there are people every day that I need to share my blessings with. Nothing is mine Lord it is all yours.

Karlyn: LLJ week 8 day 2-3
S - Luke 16:13 No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
16:17 But that doesn't mean that the law has lost its force. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest point of God's law to be overturned.
O - I'm going to serve either wholly God or wholly something else I cannot hold onto both.
I had to look in a commentary for v17 and it said "Accountability before the divine is more important than the world's opinion. What human beings value is an abomination before God."
A - I desperately need nitty gritty accountability. The kind that someone looks at me and says, "Where is your heart focused today? Are you serving God or yourself. Who and what are you putting your faith and trust in today? Who/What are you running to today when you are stressed, lonely, depressed, frustrated".
P - Lord please help me to ask myself the tough questions to know where my sin is and what to confess so that I can be wholly dedicated to you.
It's been a super fast week. We go watch Staci Linn graduate from HS tomorrow night. Oh how the time flies! Ginny I'm so glad your weekend was fun!

Ginny - LLJ, Week 8 Day 3
Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 16:16-17 "“Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in. But that doesn’t mean that the law has lost its force. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest point of God’s law to be overturned.
O - God's word never changes. It is constant and always right. It does not change with the times. It is solid truth.
A - This is why I need Christian friends and church family so much...to remind and support me that God's Word is truth...no matter what the world throws at us. Society likes to twist things and justify why things should be different because of the times we live in, but God's Word stands. He did not put time frames on His laws and commandments. Believers need to help each other stand firm and encourage one another to keep following His Word no matter what the world says.
P - Lord I pray that Your scripture would be first on my heart and mind, and that I would honor and obey it no matter what the world says.

Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
O - God wants my whole heart. He does not want my devotion split. He is my everything.
A - It is very easy and tempting to make temporal things become more important than my devotion to Christ. The world clouds my view and before I know it I am putting more time and energy into gaining earthly success than I am furthering His kingdom.
P - Lord please help me to keep my focus and heart on that which it needs to be on. Help me to take definite steps to put Your agenda first and not my selfish desires.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Ginny - LLJ Week 8, Day 1
Good Morning Girlz! I drove in from Ft. Worth this morning and even before my EARLY morning today I was running on very little sleep, so I am very tired this morning. A nap is really needed! The weekend was great though! It couldn't have been any better. We had such fun and laughed till we cried. Such a fun time being all together.
S - Luke 16:10 "He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much."
O - If I don't take care of what I have been given, I can't expect to get more.
A - What are some of those little things that are important to be a good steward in?
* money (like today's email talks about)
* time management
* benevolence, meeting others needs
* taking care of the temporal things the Lord has given me - the yard, clean house, etc.
P - Lord, please help me to give my best in all areas, especially the small ones. That I may be responsible and cherish what I have been given. Give me a thankful heart before a greedy heart.

Karlyn: LLJ week 16 day 1
Mud Run was HARD!!! At times I was in water up to my knees. My toes are even sore!
S - Luke 16:12 And if you are not faithful with other people's things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?
O - What are other people's things in my life?
*the money that my employer pays me
*the kids I do therapy with
*things I borrow from others
*the kids I teach at church
A - That's just a short list but I know I don't always give my best at work, church, or return quickly what I have borrowed. This is an area to work on in my life. I want to receive God's full blessings but they will not come if I'm not faithful and honest with what I do everyday.
P - Father please help me to stop and think when I'm using/teaching with other people's time, money, things. Help me to want to be faithful and honest at all times and not want to put me first.

Ginny - LLJ Week 7, Day 5
Good Morning Girlz!!!
Karlyn! I am so excited for you and your mud run!!! Yay!!! I will definitely be praying for your knee. Hope you have a blast! I'm looking forward to my weekend too. Jon flies in this evening and then we are driving to Ft. Worth tomorrow to see Rachel's piano recital and then celebrate my parents 40th anniversary that evening. This will be Jon's first time to meet Amy, Todd and the kids. Should be a great weekend!
S - Luke 15:28 "But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him."
O - I really needed to hear the insight of today's email. Self-righteousness is just as detrimental as rebellion.
A - I can relate to the older brother. Actually right now I've been working through circumstances at work where I feel like everyone else is always taking off days, afternoons or just goofin off and I am working non-stop. Regardless of whose right or wrong, the point is I can not let my attitude and heart become hardened and self-righteous and bitter towards those I work with. This is not about me and them, it is about my heart and honoring the Lord with my time, attitude and thoughts. Man did I need to hear that today!
P - Lord please help me keep my eyes on You and not other people. Instead of seeing the "unfairness" help to look for things to be thankful for. I want to have an attitude that is happy not on that is gloomy.

Karlyn: LLJ week 7 days 4-5
Yay Friday!!!! I'm doing a Mud Run tomorrow morning, please pray that I don't blow my knee!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm ready for some rest it's been a fast paced week.
S - Luke 15: 20, 24, 28, 31-32
So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to the son, embraced him, and kissed him.
For this son of mine was dead and now has returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found. So the party began
The older brother was angry and wouldn't go in. His father came out and begged him...His father said to him, Look dear son you have always stayed by me. And everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost but now he is found.
O - The father hadn't given up, he saw the son from a long way off
The father didn't care what he had done just that he was alive and home and ready to repent
The older brother - jealous, self righteous, selfish, and pouty
A - I'm a lot like the older brother. Full of self righteousness and my heart wants to be outwardly rebellious but I hide behind doing good and being the martyr because I'm the one doing the work and nobody else cares. Boo Hoo. I can be pitiful. Sin is sin and I've got a lot to confess to a compassionate loving patient Father!
P - Lord thank you for waiting on the prodigals and those who are self righteous (me). Reveal the sin in my heart that I need to confess.

Ginny - LLJ Week 7, Day 3
Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 15:13-15 "And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine."
O - Oh the prodigal son. There is so much to learn from him. First off, if not for grace, I would be him. I am not immune to squandering, foolishness and making selfish decisions. It's easy to read this story and go, "I can't believe he would do that!" but truth is we all make unwise decisions.
A - What I love about this story is that even though the son made a horrible decision and went down a dark path (that he knew better!), his father still welcomed him home with open arms. I love that our Heavenly Father never stop loving us. No. Matter. What. I can make bad decisions, but He still gives me a second chance.
P - Lord thank You for Your amazing grace. Thank You for accepting me back time and time again.

Karlyn: LLJ week 7 day 2-3
Happy Hump Day!
S - Luke 15:9And when she finds it she will call in her friends and neighbors and say Rejoice with me for I have found my lost coin.
13 “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. 14 About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. 15 He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. 16 The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.
O & A - In verse 9 it stood out to me that she called everyone in to rejoice with her. I know heaven rejoices when people come to Christ but what struck me is I'm not doing enough rejoicing with people. I'm playing down the power of Christ in the lives of other people instead of rejoicing in the every day miracles. Rejoicing brings attention to Christ instead of circumstances.
13-16 Waste- famine -starvation- desperation How many times am I wasteful and let it lead to desperation instead of being a steward of what I'm given and then being the opposite of desperate (I had to look it up) "confident, content, satisfied, secure, unworried"
P- Lord I will rejoice boldly in you today and become a better steward of your gifts and grace so I can be confident content satisfied and secure in you!

Ginny - LLJ Week 7, Day 2
Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 15:9 "When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!’"
O - There's a lot in this verse that I like. First off, I can relate to losing things. I don't like that feeling. I just feel so foolish for misplacing it and get frustrated because the item wasn't where I really thought I left it. Make that item something precious and the sick stomach feeling just escalates. It's just no fun losing things! I can put myself in this ladies shoes. She searched every where and cleaned every cranny. She did not rest till it was found. It controled her thoughts. What this lady does next in verse 9 is so cool to me. She was so excited that she found it that she celebrated, and not just by herself. She called in other friends to party with her. She was overjoyed that the feeling of anxiety and worry was over and she could rest again because her treasure was found! I love that feeling too. When you finally lay eyes on the item you have been seeking for. You feel like you can breathe again. Such a good feeling! And oh how much more the Lord smiles with utter elation when one of His creations comes to find Him. Nothing beats that feeling!
A - This verse reminds me to be busy on reaching lost soles. To put effort into. To be focussed on it. To be in constant prayer for those that need to be found. It is easy in my prayer life to just talk about my needs and requests and those of my family & friends. I need to up my prayer time for lost soles. The three friends I have been praying for and those I don't even know personally that are in need of a Savior.
This morning the Lord showed me a sweet lesson that I want to share with y'all. Maybe someone else could use this too. Back in March I bought a big, beautiful red geranium to hang on my front porch. It was way too early to be thinking flowers. I knew we would have more cold weather, but I was anxious to put some color out. Jon was coming in town for the weekend and I wanted the house to look happy and welcoming. The plant looked great for about a week, but then the cold snaps came and I wasn't diligent to water it, so it just began to shrivel up. It was pretty embarrasing hanging on the front porch, so I moved it to the back porch to just let it be. Well Sunday for some reason when I walked out my back door I looked at that geranium and noticed that some of the thick stems still had some green in them. It wasn't dead. So I began to clear the brown leaves and dried up buds off and broke down the tips of the stems a little bit. When I did this it was amazing to me how the smell came right back. Geraniums don't have a flowery smell, it's more like a spicey smell. You know what I mean? I like the smell. Anyhow, I watered it and hung it back on it's hook. Today as I left for work I looked at that geranium and it is amazing! Those green stems are greener than they have ever been AND there are little geranium leaves already coming out all over the stems. It was so fun to think, "it's going to make it!" God reminded me that there are times that I run ahead of Him. I want something to happen or I say something without thinking or I want to get something done and so I prematurely rush into something. Often times I regret having done that because it didn't work or turn out like I thought or I came across rude to someone. God allows me to wipe myself off, start over and He still brings good from it. He gives me second chances. He brings back the fragrance. There are things that I would like to know answers for right now, but I must wait and watch for His hand. He will bring the green and the blooms all in His timing.
P - Lord I thank You for Your Word. The story of the lost coin and how much You love us. I want to keep lost souls in the forefront of my mind. Help me to be disciplined and diligent to pray for my 3 friends and others that need Your saving grace. Also thank You for letting me start over just like my geranium plant. Sometimes it's an attitude adjustment, sometimes it's a habit I need to break or recommitt too, but Lord You never give up on me. I trust You and Your timing.
Have a wonderful "geranium" day ladies :)
Ginny - LLJ Week 7, Day 1
Good Afternoon Girlz!!! Karlyn, hope you enjoyed your restful morning. Hope everyone has a great week!!!
S - Luke 15:7 "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
O - Every single heart is important to Jesus. He treasures each one. He wants to see each person come to know Him. Am I doing my part to help show them the right way?
A - I have three friends that I have been praying for their salvation. I see these friends at work, have lunch with them, talk to them on the phone, but have been shy in clearly stating the gospel to them.
P - Lord I pray that I would have boldness to verbalize Your saving grace to my friends. That our conversations would turn to You and I would ask them about their eternity.

Karlyn: LLJ week 7 day 1
Good Monday Morning! We had a fun weekend and I'm very thankful to have Monday morning at home to catch up and rest a bit!!! Congrats Cindy and Jared, so fun! The GMG summer book club is a book Jenifer just read and one I want to read, are y'all interested? You can see it on the website. It's called Anything.
S - Luke 15:7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away.
O - Being there for and reaching out to sinners who need to repent should be on my mind every day. I should be active in this part of my life instead of retreating into the comfort of my friends who have repented.
A - For a while I stayed real comfortable in the easiness of my relationships with my friends who are believers. In the last year I've had a lot of opportunities to build relationships with those who aren't believers or just not in a good relationship with Christ. It's hard and can be very frustrating and I have to pray A LOT. I haven't seen much change in anyone yet but there's still a lot of trust and friendship to be built. It's definitely an area I need to continue to build on in reaching out to others who aren't in the same place I am spiritually or not at all!
P - Lord thank you for seeking out sinners like me. Help me to know how to be a friend to those who don't know you yet and help me to live like you authentically.

Cindy - update :)
Hey Girlz!!! Just wanted to give you an update on what God has been doing. In the fall of last year God began prompting us to be open for a move. In the midst of craziness, God was in control and had great plans for us! In Dec. Jared was told that his job would be reduced to part time spring of 2013. God opened doors and moved us to a new church in Feb! His plan is perfect! We now live in beautiful Sarasota, FL (which is south of Tampa). Jared is the Student Pastor at Sarasota Baptist Church. We love it here. There is a lot of work to be done, a bit overwhelming but exciting. So along with being at a new church with a new ministry, we are excited to announce that I am pregnant!!! My due date is Nov. 28...so we're having a thanksgiving baby :) So I do have a few prayer requests:)....first that my pregnancy will be easy and the baby healthy. Currently the nausea has been terrible! I was sick all nine months with Owen...pray that that is not the case with this one. Also, Jared and I are leading a team to Guatemala the first week in Aug...so pray that I will be able to go as planned...pray for wisdom :) Lastly, pray for the ministry here, that we would not be overwhelmed but have wisdom from the Lord in knowing what to do :) love you girls!!!

Karlyn: LLJ week 6 day 3-4
Good morning! I'm so excited to be at home ALONE for a few hours!!! I get to regain control of this house! Hope everyone's week is going great. Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!
S - Luke 14: 23-24 So his master said go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come so that the house will be full. For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.
14:26-28 "If you want to be my disciple you must hate everyone else by comparison - your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters - yes even your own life. Otherwise you cannot be my disciple. But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?"
O - I'm sitting here very overwhelmed by the seriousness of this passage. Jesus was making a very wide line in the sand. Counting the cost and accepting the invite is serious. Jesus wasn't and doesn't play games. He laid it out clearly what it took to be part of his kingdom. In my life now it doesn't cost me much to follow Christ, but I know there are people all over the world that the cost is very high. My situation would be more closely related to the Pharisees. I'm I listening and accepting and following through with the invitation he gives me to serve him daily?
A - Lord I don't want to be too busy. I want to be available to serve at all times no matter what is on my plate. God open my heart and take away selfishness and my rigidness to my calendar and schedule.

Ginny LLJ - Week 6, Day 3
Good afernoon girlz!!! I am getting so much done today! I love it! Such a great feeling!
S - Luke 14:23-24 "And the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste of my dinner.’”
O - All those who were extended a "real" invitation gave excuses. Because no one accepted the invite the man began inviting anyone he could find on the street to come and dine with him. What excuses am I holding on to? What is keeping me from ministery or saying yes to the Lord's calling?
A - I think there are plenty of excuses I give. Probably more than I am even aware of. Sometimes it's fear that causes me to decline, or just feelings of inadequacy, or that someone else would be so much better at the job than I would. Whatever the excuse, the important thing to remember is that God extended the invitation to me. He is asking me to come. He wants me to join Him. I don't want to miss out!
P - Lord, open my eyes to the excuses I give. I want to be a part of what You are doing.

Ginny LLJ - Week 6, Day 2
Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 14:11 "For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
O - In today's email I kept hearing the word "amazed" over and over again. When we take the focus off of ourselves...our accomplishments, our struggles, our talents, our weaknesses...and put it on our Amazing God - then we will be exalted and He will recieve the glory.
A - When I focus on all the Lord has done for me and His amazing grace that has saved me, that makes me want to reach out to other people and help them. Instead of wanting to be lifted up and noticed, I need to be looking for people in the shadows I can help.
P - Lord please open my eyes to those in need and humble my heart to pride and self-gratification.

S - Luke 14:11, 13-14
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Instead invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.
O - 1. I nor the rich and important benefit eternally from me seeking them out and wanting to be
noticed and honored by them
2. I and those who are more needy than me do benefit eternally from me seeking them out serving
them and loving them
A - It's very appealing to me to feel important and to rub shoulders with people who are important. However, my goal in life is to do what makes an eternal investment because earthly investments don't matter beyond here. A question to ask myself when tempted to be noticed by important folks, "Will this investment/relationship benefit them positively in eternity?"
P - God it feels good to be noticed and to look and feel important, but it feels even better to help someone in need and to be a part of them growing closer to you. Help me to seek those relationships out more than wanting to be important. Thank you that I'm important to you.

Ginny LLJ - Week 6, Day 1
Good Morning Girlz!!! Hope everyone has a great start to the week!
S - Luke 14:5-6 "And He said to them, “Which one of you will have a son or an ox fall into a well, and will not immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?” And they could make no reply to this."
O - The Pharisees thought they knew everything. That they were always right. They were so stubborn in their ways that they were blinded to common sense...much less compassion and love.
A - I am guilty of seeing situations only from my perspective and holding to that perspecitve as it is the only way. Even if I relent and do it a different way, I don't always have the best attitude about it.
P - Lord forgive me for stubborness. Help me to be more flexible and open minded when needed.

Karlyn - LLJ week 6 day 1
Good Monday Morning!!! Looking forward to a good week. I can't believe May is almost here! Rain has come and gone often and our temperatures have been so weird! You never know with Arkansas weather. Our guys are trying to plant corn this week. An answer to prayer (don't remember if I said this) but our crop insurance is going to cover us even though it's after April 20th should something happen to the corn!!!
Challenge this week: Serve every day all day and find someone to honor
S - Luke 14: 5-6 Then he turned to them and said, "Which of you doesn't work on the Sabbath? If your son or your cow falls into a pit, don't you rush to get him out? Again they could not answer
O - Jesus without sin again confronts the Pharisees. I'm so thankful that he negates legalism. I'm even more thankful of how aware he makes me of it in my life. Relationship with him isn't about tradition of denominational beliefs, it is a RELATIONSHIP of loving him with all of me and loving my neighbors!
A - I wish that I could live in humility. Pride is so ugly in my heart and I battle it every second of the day. I'm just as bad as the Pharisees at times even worse. It's hard to pray for humility because with that comes stripping of pride and that can hurt. This is definitely something I'm working through.
P - Lord Jesus thank you for being the ultimate example of humility and loving others. Help me today to let go of pride and legalism in my heart so that others see you and not me.

Ginny LLJ - Week 5, Day 4
Good Morning Girlz!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray you have a blessed-beyond-measure kind of day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
S - Luke 13:24-27 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’
O - Don't put off to tomorrow what you can do today. Be a good steward of what is in front of you today for tomorrow it may be taken away from you. The opportunity lost.
A - Oh goodness the things I find myself sitting on the bench instead of stepping up to the plate. Standing up for Chritian values and principles in a world that is far from the truth. I could and want to do much more in taking definite steps to promoting Biblical principles to a lost and confused world.
P - Lord may I step out and be a voice for what Your Word says is right. Let me not put off or think someone else will do the job You have given me to do.

Karlyn - LLJ week 5 day 3
Good Afternoon! We got rain last night but they've been able to plant ahead of it! Thanks for the info on Jon, Ginny! He sounds great!
S - Luke 13:20-21 He also asked "what else is the kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour , it permeated every part of the dough".
O - Because I'm a believer I am part of the kingdom of God. So this is a good reminder that when I feel like I'm not making a difference this verse says a little will affect the whole. This passage also makes me understand more that when I use just a little of God's Word it can change my whole mindset, posture, attitude, feelings, and approach to my situation.
A - The reverse to this is that when I let a little of the world creep into my heart it can also affect my whole in a negative way. God's kingdom needs to be more in me than anything else.
P - Thank you for letting me be part of your kingdom. Help me to permeate the whole with your love, compassion, mercy, and friendship.

Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 13:20-21 "And again He said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”
O - As much as I try to imagine what Heaven will look like, be like and feel like; I still don't believe I can come close. It will be so glorious, so majestic, so wonderful. Our God is big and His kingdom is forever. Just like the 4 year old in today's email. She believed God could answer her prayers. She expected Him to answer her prayers. His power is great!
A - I don't always pray with an expectant heart. I voice my requests, but not always am I in tune to the awe and authority and the power I am praying too. He is great and He can do great things. I should expect the tiny mustard seed to become a tree and the specks of leaven to go throughout the whole batch.
P - Lord, You are so powerful. May I come before You when I'm praying believing You will hear me and answer me. Let me not go through the motions, but may it be real as a simple child-like faith.

Karlyn - LLJ week 5 day 2
Good Morning!
S - Luke 13:10-13 One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for 18 years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, "Dear woman you are healed of your sickness." Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God!
O - I like that Jesus sought her out and knew how grateful she would be for healing. I kind of think that she was probably praising God even before she was healed.
A - I need to praise God in difficulty and in blessings. Others need to hear me thanking and praising God for good and bad too. I forget so easily to make it all about him and not me.
P - God thank you for all that comes my way. Thank you for the lessons I learn in frustrating times, for peace in easy times, and for the blessings all the time.

Ginny - LLJ Week 5, Day 1
Good Morning Girlz!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I found out Friday my sister is having a GIRL!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!
S - Luke 13:7-9 "And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’ And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’”
O - These verses says to me - keep going, don't give up, keep trying. There are times that I just want to throw in the towel. I've tried all I can think of and nothing is working. I'm tired on not seeing results. These verses in Luke give me hope that Jesus wants me to keep going. Don't give up.
A - There are some prayer requests that I am committed to for the long haul. I will not give up praying for these people and I pray that one day my prayers are answered. I also need to be reminded of perseverance in the area of healthy eating & exercise. Sometimes I feel like it takes 10 million healthy decsions to lose one pound, but it takes one bad decsions to gain four pounds. Not fair! Wouldn't it just be easier to give up and just stop trying? There are definitely moments of weakness, but Luke 13 reminds to continue to give it time. Keep making those healthy decisions and you will eventually see results.
P - Lord I pray for perseverance to keep going. Keep being a good steward of what You have given me and keep giving my best.

Karlyn LLJ week 5 day 1
PRAYER...Walter's truck was broken into last night and Ryan's A-R with silencer was taken. We are very nervous about this. Praying God helps police find the person(s) who took it and it's returned without anyone being harmed with it. Ryan isn't sure where the serial number is either. Much prayer needed!!!
S - Luke 13:7-9 Finally he said to his gardener "I've waited 3 years and there hasn't been a single fig. Cut it down. It's just taking up space in the garden. The gardener answered, "Sir give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I'll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down."
O - Second chances over and over. We have a God that doesn't give up on us. He seeks us out and isn't quick to cut us off when we aren't seeking him.
A - I need to give more second chances. I'm quick to judge and not give mercy, compassion, and look at my own heart first. I think my sins are lesser than others. When I take the time to realize the reality my sins are just as black I am able to give more time patience and love.
P - Father thank you for a million chances. Thank you for redeeming sinful people. Thank you for grace. HElp me to extend grace and second chances as much as needed today.

Ginny - LLJ Week 4, Day 4
Good Morning Girlz!!!
Karlyn, I am still praying for dry weather. Looks like y'all are getting wet today, but I hope it moves out quickly and the next few days bring sunshine.
S - Luke 12:40 "You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect"
Luke 12:48 "but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more."
O - Verse 40 tells us to be ready! Verse 48 tells us what he means by "be ready." Be ready means to have taken care of everything that has been given to us. To be a good steward of what He has given us and the position He has given us. Have we been used up for Jesus or did we get lazy and try to find short-cuts.
A - "To much is given, much is required." Am I using all my resources, talents, time and energy to further His kingdom? My prayers for my neighbors fall into this category. I have been placed in my neighborhood, I need to do a good job of reaching out to my neighbors. I think of my running club too. They are like family to me. Am I doing a good job of sharing the light when we all get together? Work is another area. I love my job. Am I taking the time to encourage those I work with? I have been given so much; I don't want to keep that to myself.
P - Lord when you come I want to be ready! I want to have done a good job of doing Your work down here on earth. Everything that I have is Yours and I want to use it all for Your glory.

Ginny - LLJ Week 4, Day 3
Good afternoon girlz!!!
NYC was great! We had such a great weekend. Everyone loved Jon and Jon loved everybody. It was so great being all together! I just don't take that for granted. Thank you all for all the encouragement and kind words. Love you gals!
S - Luke 12: 22-23 "And He said to His disciples, “For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing."
Luke 12:31 "But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you."
O - Luke 12:22-23 is a verse I need to read every night and every morning. It puts it in perspective. All those details that keep the world turning are put in their proper place and Jesus is put at the top. That is a load off for me. When I am overburdened. When I need answers to come. When I am anxious; I give it to Him and He takes it. Freeing up my mind, energy and sanity for those things that really matter.
A - What do I let cloud my mind and make me anxious? Things at work. Waiting on emails. Getting up tight right before big real estate notes close. Making sure everything is perfect. That's what gets my stomach in knots. I really could use some perspective in these times.
P - Lord please help me keep my head on straight when stressful times hit. Let me draw strength and peace from You and remember what truly is important.

Karlyn - LLJ week 4 day 3
Good Morning Girls. Knox is better! It wasn't pneumonia just very close to it. Now I've got a chest full of gunk:) Have a great Wednesday.
S- Luke 12:22-23, 31 Then turning to his disciples Jesus said "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life- whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
31 Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
O - Seek God above all else - this is where I fail miserably. I have good intentions of seeking him above all else but my selfishness gets in there real fast and I begin to do the things that I want and that please me before seeking Him out.
A - What is that supposed to look like in my life? I know that if I would pray out loud during my day when making decisions about my schedule, purchasing, free time, time with kids, job, it puts me seeking him. Stopping and thinking what is God's desire for me always changes what I was thinking about doing. Even down to the little things like "God what do I eat?".
P - Lord I really want to go back to bed right now but Father what do you have for me this morning? Help me to seek you out and follow your direction and when I do that I know worry fades away too. Thank you for a new day. Help me to use it wisely.

Karlyn LLJ week 4 day 2
Good Morning Girls. I'm very sad and prayerful for those at the marathon yesterday. I don't believe there is safety anywhere anymore.
Knox goes to the doc today to have xrays read, he may have pneumonia.
S - Luke 12:15, 20-21 Then he said, " Beware guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.
20-21 But God said to him, 'You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?' "Yes a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."
O - "Guard against every kind of greed" This statement is making me think, "what are all the different kinds of greed?". I'm thinking anything I have an excess of shows greed in that area. I've got a lot of excess. Excess is something I've been trying to work on for about 10 months. The less greedy I am, the less excess I have, the better my relationship is with Christ b/c stuff doesn't get in the way.
A - I desire a RICH relationship with Christ. My whole self functions so much better when I'm rich in him and poor (not greedy) with things! It's hard because I enjoy new things and pretty things. I've been asking God to help me find contentment in what I've got and repurpose things so I don't want more. I also want to be able to help others with their needs and if I'm always getting new I don't have resources to help others.
Today I will think about TEMPORARY THINGS and IMPORTANT THINGS
P- Lord help me to fill my basic with eternal important things. Help me to strip down and run with those things that are pleasing to you. Thank you for taking away worry yesterday and thank you for what you will provide today.

Karlyn: LLJ week 4 day 1
Good Monday Morning. Busy week here for us and we are still praying away the rain! HOpe everyone's weekend was super fun.
S - Luke 12:4-5 Dear friends don't be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I'll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell. Yes, he's the one to fear.
12:7 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
O - There are times I fear things of this earth and forget that God has the power to overcome any and all things. My perspective gets out of whack a lot because I can only see what's right before me. I can't imagine the fears that crept into the disciples hearts even though they experienced Jesus power in person. But we are so much more valuable than all of God's creations!
A - Steps to combat worry from the video 1. Pray 2.Memorize Scripture 3. Praise 4. Get moving
I woke up at 5:00 with worry this morning. It's a very busy day around here and Knox has been running fever since yesterday. I woke up and immediately began to worry about how to do all the things that had to be done today and take care of him. So I went to the couch and began to pray. I knew God had a plan but it took about 30 minutes of prayer for me to settle down my mind. I hate that I let worry overtake me but I'm thankful for the peace the Holy Spirit brings when I do turn my worry into prayers and surrender.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything instead pray about everything Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
P - Lord thank you for knowing I needed to read these verses today. Thank you for already working out some of my schedule issues today. Help me to continue to follow your lead today and not let worry overtake me. Please heal Knox today.

Ginny - LLJ Week 3, Day 5 (and some updates)
Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 11:46 "But He said, “Woe to you lawyers as well! For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers. "
Luke 11:52-53 "Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.” When He left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to question Him closely on many subjects,"
O - I just think of know-it-alls. You know those people that think they have it all figured out and have all the right answers, but have they really put it into practice? Do they have any experience at all or just the head knowledge. What I think it all comes down to is humbling ourselves under the hand of our Lord. It's all about Him and His authority.
A - Humbleness is not always my first reaction. I coud use a few more doses of that. I do not have it all together and never will, so pointing fingers isn't ever going to be a job I'm given. There is far more I need to work on and change. I keep thinking of that older gospel song that goes, "He's never failed me. He's never failed me yet." I'm going to fail. I'm going to be in the wrong, but you know what? My Savior never will.
P - Lord, I thank You that in my weaknesses, You are strong. In my imperfections, You are perfect. In my yucky, You are grace. In my confusion, You are solid. Lord may I walk humbly with you. Examining my ownself before I point a finger at someone else.
Hey girls! I need to update y'all on a few things. A while back I had mentioned a guy named Jon. At the time I wasn't too interested in him. Well that has changed! We've been dating since end of October and it is going great! He is a wonderful guy. Today we fly out to visit my folks and Tim. It will be Jon's first time to meet them. I am so excited! I am so ready to spend the weekend all together. Sunday my mom and I are also walking a half marathon. It is her first and we are very excited! You can pray for us as we walk and especially for my mom's knee. It gives her fits sometimes. I will be sure and keep y'all posted on things!
Also, if y'all will keep praying for Tim. I am super excited to see him this weekend, but he is still in great need of prayer. I love him so much and your prayers mean the world to me.
Lastly, (y'all are going to have a prayer list full of Swearingens!) if y'all would remember my sister. Many times on this blog I have mentioned her struggle with vertigo. Well two weeks ago she had another episode. Not as bad as the first one two years ago, but the worst one since. It is taking a long time to get over this and the search for a fix has not rendered any results. Also she is pregnant. Complete surprise. Not planned. So #5 will be here mid-September. It's exciting and everyone is looking forward to the new one being here, but it has changed their world as they knew it. So, please pray for them. Lots of changes happening with one of those being buying a new house. That is pretty much a must with this new addition.
Thank you girls. Love you all!

Karlyn LLJ week 3 day 5
Happy Happy Friday! We have a grave side for Ryan's great uncle today, visiting my mom and dad tomorrow, and I'm letting Sawyer play hookie from school today!
Ginny my neighbor has walked with me twice this week!
Cindy, Amber, Jenifer praying for all of you.
S - Luke 11:46 But he said, "Woe to you lawyers as well. For you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
11:52-53 Woe to you lawyers for you have taken away the key to knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering. When he left there , the scribes and the pharisees began to be very hostile and to question him closely on many subjects
O - I had a hard time with this one today not really sure what to get out of it. Looked in my Study Bible and it says they had "locked up the truth of the Scriptures and thrown away the key by imposing their faulty interpretations and human traditions on God's Word."
Times don't change much do they! I think more than ever it is very important to personally study God's Word and not just take for truth whatever a preacher, bible study leader, or "Christian" says. Everyone has an opinion but is it Truth.
A - When I'm teaching or leading from God's Word I have to make sure that I'm reading and relaying truth not my opinion. I have to seek truth and not add to or take away from God's Word. And definitely be aware of hypocrisy in my heart.
P - Father lead me as I read your Word to understand your truth and to share it wisely and correctly with others. Thank you that your word is alive and current and timely!

Ginny - LLJ Week 3, Day 4
Good afternoon girlz!!!
S - Luke 11:39-40 "But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness. You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?"
O - Jesus wants all of me. He doesn't just take what I can't handle or even what I've already figured out. He wants it all. It truly is foolish. Almost funny in a way, that I pick and chose what I give to Him. He created me! He knows me. All of me. It's all within His authority. He knows.
A - The yucky stuff is what I don't like bringing up in my prayer life. Those areas that I know I am in the wrong...those are the ones I think, if I don't pray about it then I can just keep on doing it and it won't be a big deal. Things like selfishness and pride and how I treat people nonchalantly. He sees it all. He knows it all. I need to bring it before Him and start working on getting that inside clean!
P - Lord I pray for all those little things that are so easy to sweep under the rug. I want You to have those too. Please open my eyes to all those areas I have been ignoring and let me bring them to You.
Karlyn LLJ week 3 day 4
Good Morning Girls, it's rainy, cold, and yucky here!
S - Luke 11: 39-40 But the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and platter, but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness. You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
11:42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.
O - How many times have I worked so hard to make the outside look perfect-how I dress, hair, what my kids look like, my actions of going to church and serving in positions and doing and being and I'm not as bad as them because I do this but yet I will walk out of my house without cracking open God's Word and talking with him and confessing my sins. I am a Pharisee much more than I'd like to admit.
A - I have to admit and confess every day that God's grace is the only thing keeping me from falling apart. If not for him my life would be a total mess. My focus is shifting more to my inside instead of the outside. Some small steps I've taken is I don't get all crazy when someone comes over and the house is a mess. It's always a mess and I'm OK with that right now. I don't stress about how my kids look when we go to church because I want them to know church is about their heart not their appearance. When I think I have to do such and such so someone will approve of me I try to stop and ask is God's approval of my heart and appearance and activities more important? I don't want to neglect my inside like the Pharisees did and I don't want our whole appearances to be the driving force of our life.

Good Afternoon Girls!!
S - Luke 11:29 As the crowd pressed in on Jesus he said, "This evil generation keeps asking me to show them a miraculous sign. But the only sign I will give them is the sign of Jonah.
11:33-34 No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead a lamp is placed on a stand where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad your body is filled with darkness
O - Courtney's email "call Good good and evil evil" My eyes can't deceive others. Whatever I take in with my eyes goes to my heart and whatever comes out of my heart can be seen in my eyes.
A - I want to have a healthy heart and bring in good so the good comes out. I can always tell what state I'm in by how I'm treating my family at home. It's often that I can see the bad coming out when I've watched too much tv and not filled my mind with things that are true pure lovely. To minister to my neighbors and family I have to continually bring in the good and flush away the bad. I've got a lot of bad I need to filter out.
P- FAther please reveal to me the bad and evil I need to get rid of in my life and home. Help me to call good good and evil evil and not let me be deceived into being comfortable or tolerant with it.

Good morning girlz!!!
S - Luke 11:33-34 "No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness."
O - Today's email says, "may we never exchange the light of God and His truth for the world’s darkness." Satan is a deceiver. He can make something so wrong look O.K. It makes me so mad. It breaks my heart. This world is going into the darkness, finding things that were never intended to be, and brings them out and makes them accecptable. It's wrong, and as Christians we must cling to the truth. We are the only light and we must shine. The world will roll their eyes at us and say we need to get with the times, but no. God did not create me to accept and hide my flame, He called me to live out the truth. May all of our lights shine for Him. Shine brightly!
A - I think of the father to the prodigal son. The son got involved in darkness, but the father never stopped loving his son. He kept the farm going and when the son returned he was ready for him. Start cooking the food, we are going to celebrate! Love is so important. It is crucial. It is a nonnegotiable. I will love. I want to love those that have fallen into darkness. Truth is important too. Keeping my light is important. I don't want to scoot my candle to the back corner because I feel intimidated or out of place. The world needs to see light. Oh Lord let me shine.
P - Lord thank You that I get to fight in Your army. It's hard and the world can appear to be getting it's way, but I know You win. As we fight against the schemes of Satan, let our lights shine. Don't let us back down, but love. Let us wrap our arms around people, bathe them in prayer and love them that their eyes may be open and they see how good the light is. I love You Lord.

Karlyn LLJ week 3 day 2
Good Evening Girls!
S - Luke 11:17 He knew their thoughts and said, "Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A family splintered by feuding will fall apart.
11:28 Jesus said, "but even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice."
O- PUT IT INTO PRACTICE I need to write this everywhere. I'm not putting into practice what I read from God's Word. Actually I feel so overwhelmed when I read scripture. I'm realizing that I'm trying to do this on my own and not be spirit led. Putting it into practice works so much better when I'm spirit led!
A - I will stop trying to do this on my own! I will stop being the person who brings on the division and civil war in my home! I will put God's Word into practice!!!!
What's my families purpose? I want our purpose to be that in everything we say, do, think, and feel we are growing closer to God and ministering his love to each other and those outside our walls.
What's the picture of our future? It's hard for me to look to far ahead most days I'm just trying to get by. I want our future to be time loving on others and not being selfish. I want our future to hold memory making moments where our kids move into adulthood knowing and loving Christ in every part of themselves. I want our future to be untainted by this world.
What values guide our journey? Biblical truth- not making God's word politically correct or "current" but truly standing for and living out his words in love.
What goals do we focus on (tomorrow)? - My goal is to live what I teach from God's word and then to continue memorizing scripture as a family.
What will it look like to accomplish our purpose? It will definitely look like Satan is attacking because if we truly put God's Word into practice he's gonna come after us. It will also look unselfish. (can u tell I struggle with selfishness!!)
P - God please continue to give me opportunities to love on the girls at work. Help me to put into practice what you are teaching me and please help me to follow the spirit and not try to do this life in my power.
Praying many prayers for you AMBER and JEREMY tonight!!!

Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Luke 11:17 "But He knew their thoughts and said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls."
Luke 11:28 "But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”
O - Unified. One purpose. One goal. Things just tend to work better when everyone is on the same page. I find this to be true in my work place too. It helps when we all have the same focus. How much more important when building a household. To come under the authority of God and obey His commandments.
A - Today's email had a couple of questions to answer:
What’s your family’s picture of the future? What will it look like if you’re accomplishing your purpose.
If I'm accomplishing this goal, then I am getting used up for Jesus. I am interacting with my neighbors and inviting them to church. I am going out of my way to meet the needs of those that need it. I am loving even when it is hard and I am growing in the knowledge of my Savior everyday.
P - Lord I pray that every part of me...my thoughts, my feelings, my actions...everything falls under your leadership with one purpose and goal in mind. Please unify my thoughts, feelings and actions to be in one accord with You.
Karlyn, thank you so much for praying for Tim. That means so much to me. Also, I definitely think your friend calling to walk was a God thing! How exciting to see Him opening up doors we never thought possible. I'll keep praying for both of us as we reach out to our neighbors and those around us.

A - Today's email had a couple of questions to answer:
What’s your family’s purpose? In other words, what business is your family in?
My desire for my business/purpose is to bring glory to the Lord. That His name would be proclaimed and others would come to know Him because of the love and service we extend.
If I'm accomplishing this goal, then I am getting used up for Jesus. I am interacting with my neighbors and inviting them to church. I am going out of my way to meet the needs of those that need it. I am loving even when it is hard and I am growing in the knowledge of my Savior everyday.

Ginny - LLJ Week 3, Day 1
Good morning girlz!!!! I am so excited! Yesterday evening I was coming back from my walk and 5 of my neighbors were all sitting outside visiting while their kids/grandkids played with sidewalk chalk. That never happens! When I saw them, my first thought was, "this is an answer to prayer!" I've been looking for opportunities to reach out to my neighbors and here 4 different house were represented, 3 of which I've never met, just wave to on my way in and out. I was so excited! We visited for a little bit and played with chalk and then I went back into the house. My prayer is that this is only the beginning. Thank you Jesus!
S - Luke 11:2-4 "And He said to them, “When you pray, say:
S - Luke 11:2-4 "And He said to them, “When you pray, say:
‘Father, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
‘Give us each day our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our sins,
For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”
Your kingdom come.
‘Give us each day our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our sins,
For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”
Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
O - Today's email said when we pray the Lord's prayer we've covered it all. That's a comforting thought. This prayer that Jesus gives us is exactly what we need to say when we come before Him in prayer. I'm also so grateful for verse 13. You know, Jesus doesn't give up on us. He doesn't get tired of us. His love never stops flowing. I just come before Him and ask, and He hears me.
A - The older I get I realize more and more how prayer is my lifeline. As I and loved ones are hit with giant struggles and challenges, I realize how all I've got is prayer. Through prayer I can intercede for loved ones and pour out my heart before the One who is able. When there is nothing I can do, I've still got prayer and that is the most important.
P - Lord thank You for hearing my heart through prayers. Thank You for listening. Thank You for caring. May I never give up praying for those that need Your healing hand so badly.
Hey girls - I ask that y'all pray for my brother, Tim. He's not going down the right path right now and is making decisions that are not good. He needs a lot of prayer.
Karlyn LLJ week 3 day 1
Happy Monday Morning!!
S - Luke 11:2-4, 13 Jesus said this is how you should pray, Father may your name be kept holy, may your kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation. So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
O - Prayer doesn't have to be complicated. I make it complicated a lot of times. When we pray simply with praise and respect and bring our needs not "greeds" (i thought that was funny in the video) he listens. Remembering to forgive others will open up my prayer life to more intimacy.
A - Prayer has been exhausting lately for me. I'm realizing that many times I'm begging out of desperation for the people I love and that's not what he wants from me. He wants faith in my requests and not anxiousness. I'm learning to be more calm in my prayers and definitely more specific. Instead of feeling anxious I'm asking him to show me the little steps that are getting me to what I've asked him for.
P - Lord I praise you for forgiveness and I praise you for listening and caring about our needs and requests for others. Help me as I pray today to be calm and speak to you in faith,
Hope your weeds got attacked Ginny! We didn't get to race Saturday, long story but it was OK because I got to rest all day Saturday and I really needed that. Hope your 5K was good. Speaking of prayer, we are praying for dry weather so that our guys can plant. We have to get our corn planted by April 20th. Praying for God to calm the guys anxiousness. The German Heritage festival is in a week and I hope to do that 5K! I would love to go a little faster! In May Rachel, Amy McCormick Kemmer, and I are going to do a Mud Run! Pretty excited about that! And I'm still trying to loose 40 pounds! Hope you Monday is great at the bank.
One more thing...it looks like nobody is listed as administrator on our blog. I'm going to see if everyone will give me their log in information so I can check just in case someone missed it. If we can't find the adminsitrator we have to create a new blog and I have someone that can transfer ALL of our stuff from this blog to the new one! So, if you don't mind can u text me your log in info?

Ginny - LLJ Week 2, Day 5
Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Friday!!!!!!!!! Karlyn, good luck to you and Christy on your 10K! I'm doing a 5K, so I'll be praying for us all as we move our legs!!! Anybody else doing anything fun?
S - Luke 10:41-42 "But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
O - Man I love these daily emails! I loved this line in today's:
S - Luke 10:41-42 "But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
O - Man I love these daily emails! I loved this line in today's:
The question is not “are you a Martha or a Mary”? The question is, have you, like Mary, seen the supremacy of Jesus, and placed everything in subjection to him?
Oh how good! In verses 41-42 Jesus kindly corrects Martha to focus on what is most important. Just like Martha I have many things that take my attention away from the Lord. I can get caught up in the hussle & bussle and the pride of having everything done just right, that I lose sight of the most important thing...Jesus. Taking time to listen to His voice.
A - I am helping plan a Women of Faith trip for the ladies in our church. Holly is the other coordinator. I love Holly! We were emailing back and forth the other day about details and sign ups and payments and spreadsheets and, and, and. At the end of all of it I said I was already praying for the trip and the ladies that will be coming. Holly replied back how easy it is to get caught up in the details and forget to ask the Lord's blessing and guidance on it all. How true! We plan and plan and think of every possible scenario, but if we leave out the most important reason for doing it all, then we've missed out.
P - Lord I desire to place everything in subjection to You. Help me to do that. I pray specifically for our WOF trip in September. Between now and then may every detail fall into place, but more importantly I pray for each lady that will be coming. You know who needs to be there and I pray they come. Please give Holly & I leadership skills, patience, mercy and wisdom to organize. May all that we do bring honor to You.
EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!! It's suppose to be sunny and upper 80's here. Woohoo!!!!! Me and my weeds are going to have it out! Looking forward to spending lots of time outside! Love you girls!!!
Karlyn LLJ Week 2 day 5
GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!! It has been raining like crazy for a week here and our guys are getting anxious. We need 2 weeks of dry weather! Then this summer we will be begging for rain again!
S - Luke 10:41-42 But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details. There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her."
O - We are called not to be anxious over anything, to work as unto the Lord, and to Love our neighbor as ourself. And the culture called for Martha to stay where she belonged. I think this is why Jesus gently redirected her. This was all new to them and Mary just happened to be less afraid of what others thought.
A - I'm not a detail person but when it comes to teaching and working at our church I become laser focused on the task. There's one person who I depend on for a helper and many times she's not around during the class time because she's sort of being a "mary". She's not sitting and listening to teaching but she's out meting someone's need or talking with someone who needs some direction. Sometimes I get really frustrated because I think "come on I I I need your help here, NOW". It's really hard for to step back and realize she's being obedient and helping when someone needs it! Hard lesson for me to learn.
P - Father help me to be more sensitive to hear when you are speaking. Thank you for gently disciplining us and making us more like you.

Ginny - LLJ Week 2, Day 4
Good Afternoon Girlz!!!
S - Luke 10:37 "And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.”
O - In this passage, the Samaritan certainly did show mercy, but what really gets me is how he totally goes the extra mile. It would have been one thing to stop and check on the injured man, but this guy administers help himself and then takes him to an inn and then pays the bill. The samaritan stopped his world to help this man. A stranger. Verse 33 says, "when he saw him, he had compassion." that tells me it's a heart issue. Are the needs of others my first concern or am I more concerned with my own agenda. 90% of the time it's my own agenda.
A - I think of all the places I go: work, grocery store, the park, church, restaurants, my house. Now, the next time I go to all these places I am going to slow down and pray for eyes to see those that might have a need I can meet. No, I am not expecting to see a beat up person lying in the parking lot, but there could be someone else I see that is having a rough day or is needing a helping hand. A simple act to show God's love.
P - Oh Lord please change me! I believe You could do wonderful things and people would see Your love if I would just take the time to show Your love. Loosen the selfish grip I have on my time and my money and my image. Break down the walls that keep me from trying new things and ministering to others.
P.S. tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!!!

Karlyn LLJ Week 2 day 4
S - Luke 10:27,37 The man answered you must love your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. The man replied the one who showed him mercy. Then Jesus said, " Yes, now go and do the same".
O - Loving God with all of me and showing mercy...why is the mercy so hard? I need a big tutoring in mercy. Mercy for myself, my family, my co-workers, my church family. Life is hard and continues to get harder and if I can't show mercy than I'm not showing God's love.
A - God extends buckets full of mercy constantly. If I get it I've got to share it with others and stop being so quick to hold them to a standard that is impossible.
P - Lord thank you for mercy. Help me to be quick to give it and to love you with all of me.

LLJ Day 3 week 2 Karlyn
Wednesday's story was convicting. I get so overwhelmed with how to serve and all I have to do is love and the service comes!
S - Luke 10:19-21 Look I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. NOthing will injure you. But don't rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven. "O Father Lord of heaven and earth thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father it pleased you to do it this way.
O - I don't ever remember reading this passage. The disciples were so excited about this new power they had. Just like us we get excited when God does something through us but he was quick to remind them not to be more excited about the power than the reality that their eternity was in heaven!
A - I need to rejoice in Christ and not in myself. I will continue to pray that God chooses to reveal himself to my neighbors and my family.
P - Lord thank you for revealing yourself to me. Help me to show your love at every moment to my neighbors and to those around me. God help my actions attitude and words reveal you.

Ginny - LLJ Week 2, Day 3
Today's email is soooooooo good! If you haven't read it, go now - and take tissues. So good! I'm gonna remember that story for a long time.
S - Luke 10:20 "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”
O - What really matters is Jesus. He saved me. Died in my place. My name is recorded in Heaven. Oh what love! Just like today's email..."I have always loved you." Jesus has always loved me, I want to show others His love, so they too will have their names recorded in Heaven.
A - Loving people is what I need to be about. Loving my neighbors. Loving the ladies in our Women's Ministry and those that need to join us. Loving the people at work. Loving the others in my running club. Jesus has always loved me. I want others to know that love.
P - Lord thank You for this study and especially for today's email. Oh how it lifted my spirits and renewed my mission. I still pray for opportunities to talk to my neighbors and show them Your love.

LLJ day 2 week 2 Karlyn
S - luke 10:8-9,16 IF you enter a town and it welcomes you eat whatever is set before you. HEal the sick and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you now'. And then he said to his disciples, "Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.
O - When someone welcomes me in their home or in their presence my job is not to be judgemental of their actions, words, beliefs, etc. My job is to show them Christ in my actions and words and love on them. THen if I'm not accepted I can't take it personal but know that it's God they reject.
A- I can't be afraid to approach new relationships and friendships because I"m different or someone else is different. I've got to put my faith in Christ to work thru it. I have several neighbors that live differently than I do. We are friendly to each other but don't have a relationship. I'm praying for ways to reach out to them and have been for a while.
P - God please keep my mind and heart open to how to serve others around me.

Ginny - LLJ Week 2, Day 2
S - Luke 10:16 "The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me.”
O - In today's email it said, "Even though He was God, Jesus didn’t lift up His own ego or pride. Instead, He depended on God the Father as His source for everything—including His self-esteem and security." If Jesus depended on His Heavenly Father for everything, how much more do I need to be turning to Him in every situation. When others turn to me, I want them to see me turn to Jesus. A direct line. That's the picture I get when I read Luke 10:16. I am the vessel, the messanger and I want others to hear & see my Jesus when they are around me. It's all about Him.
A - I've mentioned wanting to step out of my comfort zone and get out and visit with my neighbors more. I never see any of them go to church on Sundays. Neighbors and the women ministry at the church is where I feel the Lord directing me to focus on spreading His name.
P - Lord I pray for opportunities to reach out to my neighbors and I pray that I will see those opportunities.
Karlyn, so excited about your 10K! Y'all will do great! Hope it's a lot of fun! I'm praying for Christy in regards to Holly & job.

Ginny - LLJ Week 2, Day 1
S - Luke 10: 2-3 And He was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3 Go; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
O - In my world we call that custom work. I've got guys that do custom work for others or they themselves hire out custom work. Basically what it means is you have the piece of equipment and another farmer hires you to come over and run your equipment on his land to do whatever he needs done and then he pays you for it. You can do custom spraying, bailing, grubbing, planting, digging peanuts, stripping cotton, whatever it may be. If someone has a need, and you have the equipment & time, then you can custom. There are lots of lost people in our world that have a need. They need Jesus. I have the equipment (the Bible & my own story of salvation) and I need to make the time.
A - How can I do some custom work for others this week? Today's email challenges us to come up with a way to show love to a neighbor. I am hoping my new neighbors come around this week and I can have a chance to introduce myself to them. I've got something they need and I need to be telling them about it!
P - Lord I pray this week that my neighbors are easy to catch. I pray I noticed opportunities to share Your love to them and others that live near me.
Karlyn, I am still praying for Holly & Taylor. They are never far from my thoughts & prayers. Please keep us posted. Thank you for the prayers for races & paperwork. Today was a very full day at work, but I kept it in perspective (that's a praise!). I'm doing another half marathon on April 14th. I am very excited because I am doing it with my mom!!! We are going to walk it. Saturday was my last long training walk and now I taper. Thanks for thinking of me!

Week 2 LLJ Day 1 - Karlyn
Sorry for my absence last week. It was a weird week. Ginny I hope your race was good and that your paperwork diminishes!! We had our family gathering with Holly, Taylor and Taylor's family Saturday night. When you think of them please continue to pray for their heart. There's so much more that I could say but it really comes down to that.
S - Luke 10:2-3 These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send ore workers into his fields. Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.
O - If the harvest is great I have to remind myself that there are people out there that will still come to Jesus. I haven't been asking God to send more workers I've been praying for people to come to know Christ but I haven't asked for more workers. I'll be trying that this week.
A - When I'm constantly praying for someone to come to Christ it's exhausting and discouraging. I forget every day that God sees and knows the future and my prayers sometimes sound like I'm not sure he's listening. I need to remember who I'm praying to and just go do the work he asks.
P - Father please send the workers so that we can show you to others and they will come to know love and serve you. Protect us from the wolves.
