S - "Therefore with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming." vs. 13
O - We make a choice where we put our hope. With sound minds we decide whether to hope in Christ or in something/someone else. We don't half-hazardly decide to place our hope in the Lord when it is convenient and only when we see the results we want. We determine to put all our hope in His hands no matter if it turns out the way we want or not.
A - I must admit it can be easy to lose heart when it comes to hope. Sometimes I feel like all I do is hope and hope and hope and I see no results. The problem is there is still too much of me in all that. My thoughts, my efforts, my ideas, my, my, my.
P - Lord I take myself out of the equation. I chose to place my hope in You and trust You to produce the results you deem best. Lord please continue to teach me and show me through Your Word exactly what it means to hope in You.
