Good Morning Girlz!!!
S - Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. 1 Timothy 2:9-10
O - Nancy focusses on the word "modesty" today. I want to be a woman of modesty.
A - Oh girls I so wish y'all could have been here this morning. We had bday bfast for one of the gals in our office this morning. I am sitting there eating my bfast pizza with bacon and green chilies when these ladies start talking about the most in apporpriate things regarding their love life. They were laughing it up and going and on and on. There were guys in the room and some chimed in. I scarfed down the last of my pizza and returned to my desk. I open up today's post and read this:
A woman who is modest is not comfortable when people are talking indiscreetly, when they are talking about private sexual matters in public. A modest woman isn't comfortable with that, and certainly she doesn't talk that way herself. She is discreet. She is reserved.
Now I don't bring this up to say, "look at me, I'm modest." but rather to give a great example of what is NOT modest. I have my areas to work on too. In speech, dress, demeanor...I want to present a Christ-like heart.
P - Lord, I pray for protection from a world that defines a true woman in different terms than You. I pray that conversations such as this morning always make us uncomfortable in public. Let us not accept the ways of society, but strive to be a woman that honors You.
