Also, Amy McCormick Kemmer's daughter Abby is having health issues related to her heart. You can go on facebook and read the details. They live not far from us and we see them often, Abby is precious and Amy is concerned. I have so many friends lately who have children with major health issues. You just never know, I'm glad God does.
My feet are still an issue. I think I'm going to take this week off from a long run and see if that helps.
Going to the punkin patch tomorrow to play! Have a great weekend.
By the way this study is really convicting!
Last but not least. I need prayers for handling an issue at church. We've got a trouble stirrer who has struck again and I've got to be self controlled with my thoughts, words, actions, etc in my part of this. I run from conflict and this time I don't want to run I want to get to the heart of this in the correct way!!! Thank Lysa Terkeurst for writing Unglued and making me aware of my reactions!!
S - I timothy 2:9-10 Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing,[a]modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness
O - This quote from Nancy sums it up for me today.
"When you extend yourself, your
heart, and your hands in good works, you know what you’re doing? You’re
adorning the gospel. You’re making Jesus believable. You’re reflecting a heart that is
modest and pure and self-controlled. You’re reflecting the heart of Jesus.
So, in our appearance, in our
attitudes, and in our actions—everything about us—nothing is insignificant. It
all matters: the way you dress matters, the way you think matters, the way you
talk matters."
A- If I want Jesus to be believable to everyone around me I've got to think about how my appearance, attitude, and actions are reflecting him at all times. I've got to be consistent in every environment that I'm in so that I'm not confusing the gospel example that I'm supposed to portray.
P - Lord I want self control, restraint, and a pure heart in every situation I'm in so that I'm always reflecting you. Thank you for the practice situations you've given me this week. Please continue to help me work through all environments and situations with a heart that wants to please you and not selfish.
Praying for your Dad, Amy's daughter, your feet, and your trouble-stirrer at church. Please keep us posted on everything. Have fun at the pumpkin patch!
