Karlyn - Ephesians 1-2

S - 1:18-19  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you will know what is the hope of His caling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
-And what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

2:3; 13  Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest
-But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

O - I love Paul's writing style.  You can hear it in his words that he is soooo full of the Holy Spirit and words can't even express what he feels for Christ!  That's the desire I have, to be so full that my saucer runs over!

Vs 18-19 remind me that I haven't allowed myself to really be ENLIGHTENED of Christ's calling, my inheritance as a believer, and His surpassing greatness of His power.  All of this is available to me but so many times I put God in a box and don't expect and live for his greatness!  He has the power to save my neighbors and he has the power to revive my church and he has the power over my sins that I allow myself to me chained to!

Chapter 2 reminds me again that because I'm saved I need to treat my lusts as FORMER and stop being a slave to them.  I've been FREED and need to live like it!  I tend to live like Christ is far off and not completely live with Him NEAR.  He is so near and I have such a privilege to live with him in me!  Start living like it Karlyn!!!

A- Today I surrender my sins, my lusts to Him and live in the freedom from sin that he gives me every day.   Today I choose to live ENLIGHTENED and hold on to the nearness of him in my life!

P- Lord I praise you for the greatness of your power!  I pray that the eyes of my heart will be enlightened today so I will know the hope of your calling and the riches of your inheritance!  Thank you for bringing me near to you by the blood of Jesus!
