Amber- The Best

Thanks Jen for sharing your life!

An update on my life! I shared a little bit about what has been going on, but there's more...
J and I have been married for a year and a half already! I must say the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful man of God. He strives to know the Lord better every day and I am so thankful for that. I am definitely glad I waited for the Lord to bring J into my life. He is the perfect one for me. AB is almost five months old and what a little blessing and ray of sunshine in my life. She was an unexpected surprise, I am so in love with my baby girl! I will be honest, sometimes I wish J and I would have had a little more time "just the two of us" before AB came along...Just time to travel, hang out, and grow together, but most of the time I stand in awe of how the Lord could have entrusted us with this precious gift who is full of joy! J and I are learning together what it means to be husband and wife as well as mom and dad.

We love the church where God has placed us! We have been there for a little over a year and I have learned so much about what a church should be. The people in leadership are amazing, humble servants, who are looking for ways in the community as well as abroad to bring people to Jesus. They are not concerned with the comfort of the members. The truth is taught, hard truth, that challenges me every Sunday. This life is not about my comfort, my pleasure, my desires...it's about God being glorified! The only thing J and I have not found is community. We have been to different small groups, but haven't found those people we really click with. It has been a time for us to grow individually and as a couple, but true intimate relationship with others is what we are desiring and needing at this point. Another reason why this group came at the perfect time.

My job is, well, less than desirable. I have a great desire to stay home with AB, but instead for now I am paying big bucks for daycare. I am currently looking at some other job options, hopefully part time. J recently got a new job, which will hopefully make me staying home more of a reality, but we are still working on that.

J and I are seeking what the Lord has for us. We are still wishing to go overseas, but have been rejected, so we are not sure what we should do now. We are trying to be faithful to serve where the Lord has us for now.

I will always remember a wise man telling me when I was in a somewhat difficult relationship. "This is good, this is very good, but is it the best, God's best?" That statement totally changed my perspective on everything. That's where I am now. Life is very good. But are we living the best? Not the best in our eyes as far as finances, position, ministry, vocation, comfort but God's best. I realize God's best may totally rock my world, but God's best is what I long for more than anything.

  1. OK we HAVE to all get together! There's just too much to catch up on and I want to HUG you not type to you!!!

I'm so excited for all the things you're learning and experiencing. I know the strong desire to stay at home and be wife and mom. I'm thankful for the creative ways God has given us to survive to make that possible but it does take a lot of faith and consciousness about how we choose to live life! It's hard but wouldn't trade it for anything. I don't know if you've ever read any of Sally Clarkson's books on motherhood but it gave me some clear insight on what God says about us. It helped me see from scripture where changes needed to be made and feel confident about changes we had made.

I'll pray intently that God provides a way for y'all to minister and be the best mom and wife he wants you to be!

Love you so much and can't wait to meet that precious baby girl someday!!
