I did not get my James 5 post up Friday. I was so busy at work and currently we do not have internet at home, so I will try to post that one at some point this week also.
S-Titus 1:10-11 "For there are many rebellious men, empty takers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for sake of sordid gain."
O-What a great description of what is going on with our world whether it be Harold Camping or Rob Bell. There seem to be false teachers everywhere that people are following wholeheartedly. Whether these men are doing this for their own gain or because it's truly what they believe I'm not one to judge. People are following wholeheartedly because they like what they hear.
A- This chapter mentions "truth" or a form of the word several times along with words describing the Word, sound doctrine, etc. What a great reminder that I need to be constantly reading and understanding the Scriptures. There are many false teachers out there who sound good and "tickle the ears" of those who are listening. I need to know what the Bible says in all matters.
P- Praying that I will continually stay in the Word and truly understand it so that I will be ready to give an answer for the hope that I have. That I will be sensitive to the Spirit when He is showing me what is from Him and what is not.
You know what has been really sad for me and hard to believe is the fact that so many people we went to school with and fellow Christians have fallen to these false teachers. Especially with Rob Bell. It blows my mind that so many people who I thought I knew are defending him.
