Good Morning Girlz!
S - "Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgement without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgement." James 2: 12, 13
O - I see the theme of complete popping up in James 2 as well. We don't not commit adultery, yet murder - it's both. We don't judge, yet expect mercy - it's both. We don't have faith, yet no works - it's both. It's all of it. It's completeness.
A - Mercy is a huge buzz word for me b/c it is an area I struggle in. I am much rather to think "buck it up" then "I feel sorry for you." Extending compassion is not my first reaction. The Lord is constantly working on this with me. (Funny how some lessons take longer to learn than others.)
P - My prayer has been and will continue to be that love goes before all. That it covers the path before I take a step. That I may be a loving person, so that others may see Christ in me. I also pray for my pride, and my desire to be merciful At the root of judgement (the opposite of mercy) is pride. Sometimes I don't even want to be merciful b/c it seems weak to me, and I truly think that person should get over it and move on...see I need a lot of work! Love, pride, & mercy - can use prayers for all three.
Love you gals!
I didn't even think about the theme of complete running through the whole chapter thank you so much for bringing that out. It makes so much more sense now.
ReplyDeleteI relate to the mercy issue so much. Sometimes I think I try to be so independent that I let pride slip in and mercy slip away!
