Jen Titus Chapter 1

S.v9- He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught;then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.

0-We need to dig into the Bible personally not just rely on what we have heard in church or from others.
How can we share the good news, be a comfort those in need,or fight for what we know is the Truth if we don't know the Word. An antheist knows his stuff and so do Jevoah Witnesses.

A- For too long I have relied on my pastor, Sunday school teacher and even my parents to know what the Bible has to say. It's only been in the last few years that I have really become to devour the Word. I want to be an encourager and I want to be able to hold my own when a family members disagrees about scripture (especially on moral issues). As a Sunday School teacher's wife and now a deacon's wife, I feel that I need to know the word even more and to be an example to other believers. How can I say to someone that they need to read the word and get to know it if I'm not doing it myself?

P- Lord, I pray that when I read your Word that I will fully understand and take something away. I don't want to read a few verses and say ok. Lord I did my part today. I want it to consume me and flow out of me. I want to encourage people going through all of lives up and downs. Amen

PS- I have to say that last week was the first week in a long time that I actually had a QT EVERY single day! I feel like I have so much more time in my day and that my spirit is better!

  1. Jenifer, I loved this post! Thank you for your insight into knowing the Word and standing on its truth, versus a human's words. I too have dealt with this. It was actually through a guy I dated that I began to really question WHY I believe certain things. This guy was a Christian, but he thought differently than me about some core issues. The only thing to do was to seek the Word. We must take ownership of our beliefs rather than base them on what others say. A-men sister!

I'm pumped for your quiet time! So ready for our trip!!!
