I thought it was interesting that 3 of you desire so much to have an older mentor. The desire is the same on my end. Several months ago we were doing a ladies study at our church. For our small little congregation we now have about 6 women my age very involved and 2 older women! We've been desperate for older mentors and have really prayed about it. We finally felt the Holy Spirit telling us to wait and keep mentoring each other and those younger. So, we still don't have anyone investing in us but we are investing all we can in everyone else.
About 3 months ago there were several older women in our church who began seeing needs and taking the initiative to meet them! We couldn't believe it! Still not investing in us but to see them meeting needs in other areas was huge (our church body was almost to the point of death and no one was being responsible for anything). One lady even asked me if she could come in the mornings and sit with the boys so I could go run! WOW you better believe my mouth hit the floor!
So, all that to say, keep praying! We are too and I have faith that God will give these older women the courage to step out and share and teach us! Most of the time I believe it's not that they don't want to mentor they just feel inadequate.
